Mercantil Commercebank N.A., one of the largest banks headquartered in Florida, has named Andrew Waxman Vice President, Branch Sales and Service Manager of its newest location in Aventura.

In his new role, he will be responsible for delivering the Bank’s portfolio of financial services including cash management, personal banking, and commercial lending to residents and local businesses in the Aventura market. Waxman has over 12 years of financial services experience, including positions in retail banking, wealth management, private banking, and as a financial planner.

Prior to joining Mercantil Commercebank, Waxman had a 5 year tenure with Wachovia Bank where he held various positions, among them Assistant Vice President, Senior Financial Specialist. He was also a Vice President of Wealth Management and Private Banking for Comerica Bank in Fort Lauderdale.

Waxman attended University of Maryland - College Park for his undergraduate degree. He also received a Certificate in Financial Planning from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

Actively involved in the community, Waxman participates in numerous charitable organizations. He is involved in the Humane Society of Broward, and was previously a board member of their Planned Giving Council.

He has also been active with Gilda’s Club of South Florida, and held positions on the Associate Council.
