MERCANTIL COMMERCEBANK APPOINTS DERRICK MARTIN AS VICE PRESIDENT COMMERCIAL BANKING OFFICER

Mercantil Commercebank N.A., one of the largest banks headquartered in Florida, announced the appointment of Derrick Martin as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer and will develop commercial business opportunities in Broward and Palm Beach counties. He will also focus on supporting the Florida market in increasing and structuring SBA loans. Martin will be based in the Bank’s Weston banking center.
“Derrick brings extensive commercial banking experience, as well as specialized expertise in SBA lending, to our team,” said Ed Holden, Executive Vice President, Domestic Personal and Domestic Commercial Banking Manager, Mercantil Commercebank. “He will be a great addition to our organization, and I look forward to working with him.”
Previously, Martin was Vice President at the Florida Business Development Corporation. He also served as Regional Account Manager for CIT Commercial Finance Group, where he was responsible for originating working capital and business loans.
Martin holds a B.A. from the University of Tampa and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Arizona State University. He is currently enrolled in Georgetown University’s Center for Continuing Professional Education and scheduled to complete a Business Financial Management program February 2011.
